DIGITAL DESIGN
Introduction to Information Technology
This course is designed to provide an introduction to information technology concepts and careers as well as the impact information technology has on the world, people, and industry and basic web design concepts. The content includes information technology career research; operating systems and software applications; electronic communications including e-mail and Internet services; basic HTML, DHTML, and XML web commands and design; and emerging technologies and Web page design.
Digital Design 1
This course is designed to develop basic entry-level skills required for careers in the digital publishing industry. The content includes computer skills; digital publishing concepts and operations; layout, design, and measurement activities; decision-making activities, and digital imaging.
Digital Design 2
This course continues the development of basic entry-level skills required for careers in the digital publishing industry. The content includes computer skills; digital publishing operations, layout, design, and measurement activities; decision-making activities, and digital imaging.
Digital Design 3
This course continues the development of industry-standard skills required for careers in the digital publishing industry. The content includes the use of a variety of software and equipment to perform digital publishing and digital imaging activities.
Digital Design 4-7
This block of courses builds on the foundation of knowledge and skills to prepare students for employment in digital publishing positions. The content includes enhanced practical experiences in computer generated art and text, graphic design, graphic production, electronic design skills, preparation of electronic layouts and illustrations, and electronic scanning; and development of specialized skills in multimedia presentations.
JOURNALISM
Journalism 1
This course is designed to develop basic entry-level skills required for careers in the writing and editing industry.
Industrial Communications 1
This course is designed to develop basic entry-level skills required for careers in the communications industry. This will include set planning, lighting, and equipment used in television production. Students will also be able to identify and write different types of script in broadcast style.
Digital Design 1

This course is designed to provide a basic overview of the Internet, Intranet, and WWW. The content includes operating systems; basic HTML commands; navigation of the Internet, Intranet, and Web; and Web page design.
NEW MEDIA TECHNOLOGY

New Media and Digital Imaging
This course provides an overview of presentation guidelines and design elements associated with various presentation types. Effective digital photography composition and digital imaging software features including optimizing digital photographs for Web publication are covered. Students will create an electronic slide presentation using presentation software.
Digital Video & Sound
This course covers advanced planning and video editing for multimedia presentations. Students design presentations through various steps of development, implementation, and final output.
